The U.S. Women’s National Team is finally heading to Atlanta.
For the first time in the USWNT’s 29-year history, the team will host a friendly in Atlanta against Russia at 7:30pm on Feb. 12 at the Georgia Dome. The USWNT had played in Kennesaw, Ga. outside of Atlanta proper in 2010.
The friendly is the second in a two-game series against Russia with the two sides meeting on Feb. 8 in Boca Raton, Fla. The series marks the first time the USWNT will face Russia in nearly 12 years. The USWNT has an all-time 5-0-1 record against Russia. The USWNT is ranked No. 1 in the latest FIFA Women’s World Rankings while Russia is No. 21.
The match in Atlanta will finish a quick three-game set beginning with a friendly against Canada on Jan. 31 in Frisco, Texas.

Bought my tickets, so excited!!
Finally, a US national team coming to town. I’m there.
No idea, and I live here (like you, I assume).
Too bad the Dome wasnt available for the Canada game. The might have gotten a really nice crowd for what is becoming a derby scenario.
I’m literally so excited. I started shaking in Chem lecture.
