The New England Revolution spent the month of May running rampant through any opposition in their path, scoring 14 goals in a streak of four games that catapulted the team to the top of the Eastern Conference. The Revs offensive outburst showed exactly what it looks like when a team clicks, but the creativity and flair of the team are defined by midfielder Lee Nguyen.
Nguyen may not have the stats to go head-to-head with some of the league’s elite, but there are few players more instrumental to their team’s success than the 27-year-old midfielder. Nguyen is constantly demonstrating his value as the catalyst of a now-potent Revolution attack, displaying the creativity and calmness on the ball to spring many a Revs offensive opportunity. Nguyen’s contributions have helped lead the Revs to the top of the Eastern table and earned him recognition for his play as May’s SBI MLS Player of the Month.
Nguyen beat out Sporting KC’s Dom Dwyer, Real Salt Lake’s Javier Morales, and New York Red Bulls forward Bradley Wright-Phillips for this month’s honors.

What do you think about Nguyen’s performance in May? How important is the midfielder to the Revolution’s success? Who stood out to you during the month of May?

You can evaluate Lee’s talent against other MLS teams:
04/12 NE – Houston( Davis ): 2 – 0
04/26 NE – Sporting KC( Zusi ): 2 – 0
05/03 NE – Toronto ( Bradley ): 2 – 1
05/11 NE – Seattle ( Dempsey ): 5 – 0
05/17 NE – Phila ( Edu ) : 5 – 3
We can conclude that Lee Nguyen should be in USMNT.
If JK wasnt so locked into some of his pets, Lee would be in Brazil right now. He is better than Green (by far), Zusi, Davis (not even close) and Bedoya.
deserved
I love Nguyen so, so much. Wish he would’ve made the camp.
I really wish he was called to the national team. Imagine a midfield with Bradley and Jones and Nguyen in front of them? Would be awesome. The guy can flat out play.
I do not know if he will have the same engine in 2018, but I can deferentially see Lee Nguyen, being in the player pool in 2018.
That’s why it’s a shame he wasn’t chosen now. I think he is a better player than Zusi, Davis, and Diskerud. He’s more technical and has better vision than all of those three. The US needed a MF like this.
I doubt he is better than diskerud. Diskerud probably has the second best vison/passing ability on the team
hes better
then why hasnt he been on any squad for the past 2 years?
From PSV to 2007 Copa America to Randers to the Vietnamese league. How good would he be now if he would’ve stayed in Europe?
Or never left the MLS.
I don’t think he was in MLS prior to PSV…
