For the third time this calendar year, the Under-18 U.S. Men’s National Team are flying across the pond for another European tournament.
U-18 head coach Javier Perez has picked a strong 20-man squad for the 21st International Tournament of Vaclav Jezek, taking place from Aug. 14-24 in the Czech Republic. The squad features the likes of recent Homegrown Player signings Sebastian Saucedo of RSL and Coy Craft of FC Dallas, as well as Jurgen Klinsmann’s son, goalkeeper Jonathan Klinsmann.
The squad also features U-18 regulars Mukwalle Akale, Malcolm Jones, Ben Swanson, and Sebastian Elney.
There’s a couple of new members in the team of note. One is Tottenham defender Cameron Carter-Vickers, the only foreign-based member in the squad, and U-17 USMNT standout Haji Wright earns his first U-18 call-up after a strong run in the Copa Mexico de Naciones in early August.
The upcoming tournament is the third European tournament that the U-18s are taking part in this year. The U-18s competed in the Copa Del Atlantico last February and the Lisbon International Tournament last June.
Here’s a look at the U-18 USMNT squad:
U.S. U-18 SQUAD FOR VACLAV JEZEK TOURNAMENT

What about Dembakwi Yomba, now with Athletico Madrid?
Unlike Pulisic, who signed with Dortmund, a pro-contract, as he has a European Passport and can sign as an under 18, Wright, to my knowledge does not have one, and cannot generally sign a pro-contract until he is 18 (younger in some countries) He can, however, join a youth team or an academy team as an amateur, The rumor was that was to sign with Schalke 04, however several other big Euro teams have an interest. Being independent of the LA Galaxy youth team would encourage contacts from other foreign teams, who generally would not “poach” youth players in other academies, but still would not preclude a homegrown contract from the Galaxy as his playing time with the LAG youth academy would qualify him for a LAG Homegrown contract.
Galaxy need to dump Villarreal and use the HG slit on Hajj.
Yeah they need to slide him right into that slit.
Ben Swanson!! Ron Swanson’s son, err i mean…
Haji Wright is unattached now? Is he no longer affiliated with LA galaxy?
Wasn’t Haji with the Galaxy?
yup, but no longer. he’s looking for a european move. LA want him to stay though, so we will see what happens.

Looks like both Wright brothers may head to Schalke.
Cameron Carter-Vickers. a new discovery
I’m a huge Tottenham fan and have never heard of him and I know a lot of the youth team players (I guess not the 17 yr olds). Who is he?
Found this from a write up from a U18 game between Tottenham and Arsenal, started at CB
