Soccer Monday: Your Running Commentary

Only five points away from an automatic qualification spot into next year’s UEFA Europa League group stage, Everton can close that gap on Monday.

The Toffees host Crystal Palace at Goodison Park in Liverpool, headlining Monday’s matches.

Everton’s most recent outing was a 2-0 win against Middlesbrough in the English Football League Cup. However, U.S. Men’s National Team goalkeeper Tim Howard received some criticism in the clubs latest English Premier League contest, a 3-3 tie to AFC Bournemouth on Nov. 28.

Crystal Palace will be no easy task as it most recently pummeled Newcastle, 5-1, and sits three places above the home side on the EPL table.

Meanwhile, a La Liga showdown takes place at Cornellà-El Prat. Levante needs a road win against RCD Espanyol if it wants to attempt a climb out of the Spanish relegation zone.
