Out the door as head coach of New York City FC one day, joining the U.S. Men’s National Team’s coaching staff for January camp the next.

According to ESPN FC, former NYCFC and Real Salt Lake head coach Jason Kreis has been added to Jurgen Klinsmann’s staff for the current training camp in Carson, California. Kreis has been out of a job since parting ways with NYCFC at the conclusion of the 2015 campaign, which saw him lead the expansion club to just 10 wins.

The U.S. camp, which began on Monday, will conclude with two friendlies at the StubHub Center. The Americans will face Iceland on Jan. 31 before doing battle with Canada on Feb. 6.

What do you think of Kreis joining the USMNT camp? Where should Kreis coach next?

    • You blame Kreis for the poor defensive play of NYCFC who came from Manchester City, the “when will he ever arrive” Frank Lampard and the limited field coverage by Pirlo? Way too many of the NYCFC problems were not under his control.

  1. I was never a fan of RSL, but you have to appreciate what he was able to do to that team. Players like Johansson, Zardes, and Wood guys who don’t have their backs to the net will benefit the most out of this. If JK offers JK a permanent position on JK’s staff I hope JK accepts it.

  2. why not.. i like the idea of exposing him to the national team set up.

would be interesting if they brought more MLS, NASL, USL, NCAA, youth, etc coaches in to camps along with players all the time.
