The German Bundesliga and English League Championship both feature multiple matches that will have Americans facing off abroad over the weekend, as do Liga MX and the 2. Bundesliga.
Germany provides the bulk of the action for Americans this weekend, with a trio of face-offs to keep an eye on. The marquee match features Christian Pulisic and Borussia Dortmund taking on U.S. Men’s National Team teammate John Brooks and Hertha Berlin, while Fabian Johnson and Borussia Moenchengladbach also face a fellow USMNT member as they take on Bobby Wood and Hamburg. The 2. Bundesliga has yet another American-on-American match as Russell Canouse and VfL Bochum take on Julian Green and VfB Stuttgart.
The English Championship also features a pair of USMNT defenders facing off, as Tim Ream and Fulham face a visit from DeAndre Yedlin and Newcastle United (though Yedlin is sidelined with a thigh injury). Elsewhere, Eric Lichaj and Nottingham Forest take on Burton Albion, Danny Williams and Reading face Preston North End, and David Wagner’s Huddersfield Town take on Brentford.
Liga MX features a wealth of USMNT talent on display as well, including a pair of multiple-American matches. Club Tijuana and its American-heavy roster take on Jonathan Bornstein, Luis Gil and Queretaro this weekend, while Edgar Castillo and Monterrey face Jorge Villafana, Ventura Alvarado and Santos Laguna.
