The upcoming CONCACAF World Cup qualifier between Mexico and Jamaica set for Saturday in Kingston has been moved to Mexico City after Hurricane Gustav struck the Jamaican capital. The decision was agreed upon by the Jamaican and Mexican federations as well as CONCACAF and FIFA.
The sides were scheduled to meet in Mexico City on Oct. 11, but now that World Cup qualifier will be played in Kingston.
Go Mexico, they will crush Jamaica. Go cuba, beat the USA.
come on reggaeboys!
Hurricane Gustav hit Cuba even worse and not that far from Havana. Do we know the condition of the field the US is suppose to play on?
this will be in favor of jamaica if they can get a draw vs honduras. that will give them three home games back to back next month giving them a chance for 11 points. i’m almost sure mexico will send a weaker team in jamaica in october and give the jamaicans a better chance at three points there.
Not only do I feel for the Jamaican people but I feel for any team that has a fixture moved to Azteca against Mexico. Here’s to hoping they come out of this okay on both fronts.
Good luck Jamaica…
So does the game that was meant to be in Mexico later go to Jamaica? or does Jamaica lose their home game all together?
