Remember two weeks ago, when you had to wake up bright and early to watch the Merseyside Derby in order to catch a glimpse of Landon Donovan and Tim Howard in a big European match?
Get ready to do it again.
Donovan and Howard lead Everton against red-hot Wayne Rooney and Manchester United in the weekend's marquee match, a match you'll have to wake up early on Saturday morning to see (though seeing it in HD on ESPN2 will make it even more worthwhile).
Everton-Manchester United isn't the only top match in England this weekend. Manchester City takes on Liverpool in a match with major implications in the race for fourth place in the Premier League.
If you're looking for some non-EPL action, you can do worse than the Sao Paulo classico between Palmeiras and Sao Paulo. Inter Milan-Sampdoria also promises to be an entertaining affair.
Here are SBI's Top 10 Matches to Watch, as well as This Weekend's Soccer on TV:
SBI'S TOP 10 MATCHES TO WATCH
1. Everton vs. Manchester United. Tim Howard and Landon Donovan vs. Wayne Rooney and Sir Alex? You can't afford to sleep in this Saturday.
2. Manchester City vs. Liverpool. The race for fourth place in the Premier League makes this a critical encounter for both teams.
3. Inter Milan vs. Sampdoria. Can surprising Sampdoria pull the upset and climb ahead of Napoi for fourth place, or will Jose Mourinho's men keep their stellar home record intact?
4. FC Porto vs. Sporting Braga. Can Braga regain its place atop the Portuguese standings, or will Porto pull off the win here despite the looming Champions League match vs. Arsenal?
5. Palmeiras vs. Sao Paulo. The Sao Paulo derby should be entertaining, both on the field and in the stands.
6. Werder Bremen vs. Bayer Leverkusen. Bremen need a win to climb back into contention for a Top 5 spot in the Bundesliga while Leverkusen tries to stay ahead of Bayern Munich.
7. West Ham vs. Hull City. Jozy Altidore vs. Jonathan Spector. Enough said.
8. Real Madrid vs. Villarreal. Manuel Pellegrini faces his former club in a match Real Madrid needs to win to keep the pressure on Barcelona.
9. Guadalajara vs. Puebla. Okay, so U.S. national team players are playing, but Guadalajara is playing great soccer and Herculez Gomez has found his scoring touch since moving to Mexico.
10. SC Freiburg vs. Hertha Berlin. Are you one of the many American fans intrigued by Daniel Williams? Here is your chance to watch him play (a must-see for those who are already insisting he be called up without ever having watched him play).

Yeah, me too. Being a soccer fan in the US is tough enough. Being one on the West Coast is an added dimension of dementia.
Amen to the DVR.. and now that a glorious 10am sleep in is out of reach due to young kids.. Amen to the Prem for giving me prime viewing at 7am. pst.
On Saturday– that is.
Ives,
It appears that you’ve missed the Barcelona-Racing game at 2 pm (ET) on GolTV.
How can Lando phathom giving up playing the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Sporting x2, Man U and Spurs in the period of 22 days?
Will Donovan be playing against the Revolution on March 27th?
Or Wolverhampton?
Answers: I can’t. Wolves.
yuup same here gotta get up at 4 there is absolutely no way ima miss dat one lol itll give us a sample of wat mite be with the usa against england lol i cant wait lol
Dammit, I really need to get a DVR. And before you ask how anyone can’t have a DVR, I’m a broke ass college student.
a man who goes out drinking the night before. who gives a flying F what Jim Rome says…!?!
AFAIK, none of the ESPN EPL games are on ESPN360.
Don’t like you lack of dedication Brian…. sleep when you die…
The Everton/Manchester United Replay will be on ESPN360 right? Because there is no way in hell I’m getting up at 4:30 am on a saturday
‘Gladbach concede a penalty with three minutes remaining. Hoffenheim equalise. 2-2 and two points dropped for ‘Gladbach.
ives, please continue this “top matches to watch list”
i hate missing a high profile match just because other worries take my mind away from the game
this list makes it easier on us
Bradley just missed a gilt-edged chance at the top of the box.
Nice to see Vedad back for Hoffenheim, too bad what happened to him last year when he was on that ridiculous tear of goals.
Not a devotee, just quoting. I think he’s funny in some areas, obviously hate his outlook on soccer.
I don’t mind being up to see this game live though. Can always go back for a siesta when necessary.
F#%K jim rome. Im a stoner and ill be up at 7:30. 🙂
jake, well said. There will be plenty of time to wake up way too early when we’re 70.
I guess it’s not the weekend, but Valencia v. Getafe will be on ESPN360 on Monday.
I’ve listened to Rome for years. He’s often funny and clever. I don’t need every person I read or listen to to share all my views.
Luis Gil to the MLS…weighted slot? Where will he end up?
Bradley missed a sitter and then gave the ball away on his own end, nearly giving away a goal. Not good.
Wait, you’re lurking on a soccer web site and a Jim Rome devotee? That hurts.
Jim Rome is a butt munch.
Mönchengladbach’s LB takes PKs, and just made one…1-0
a man who’s been working his @$$ off all week… at least a man w/o kids….
ameeeeen!
Like Jim Rome Says… what grown man sleeps in past 9 on the weekends aside from stoners?
DVR is Jesus.
Ill be asleep at 430am on the west coast and DVRing the Everton Man Utd game. People get with the times so you can sleep in.
I’ll also be waking up at 4:30 here in Seattle to watch.
Anyone know what time the Hull city v. West Ham game is (Eastern time) for those of us who don’t get setanta and want to stream it?
Oh, right…the match. Donovan against Evra whould be interesting. I doubt the USA faces France in South Africa, but it should still be a good gauge of Landon’s ability against world class players and to see if his performance against Cole/Zhirkov/Chelsea was a fluke.
Best place to watch the match? Goodison Park. Hehehe. Don’t let me down, Lando.
7:30 is nothing for me. I wake up at 5:30 every morning to go to school.
Yes, it’s true I will be getting up at 4:45 California time to check out Man U v Everton.
