Today's marquee match on the international scene featured London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal, and a game of that magnitude has a funny way of producing unforgettable goals.
Today's London Derby gave us one such goal, courtesy of 19-year-old Danny Rose, who blasted a long-range shot that helped Tottenham record a 2-1 victory against Arsenal, Spurs first league win over the Gunners since 1999.
If you missed the goal, or just want to see it again, here it is:
Could somebody please tell me where I can find Danny Rose goal v Arsenal (14/4/10)Looking for the CNN Joe Champion commentary which is one of the BEST Ever !!!!!Please e-mail with details, been tring to get hold of it for weeks.Warm Regards and many thanks.e-mail is lmcnamara@radioworks.co.nz
Wow, that was Feilhaber-ish.
you see guys trying volleys like this every week, and rarely are they even on target. that was one very well-taken shot. it’s easy to say almunia should have done better, but i think it blew past him before he knew it was coming (and maybe he was just staying the hell out of the way for the sake of self-preservation).
just got to throw a little sour grapes in this discussion: cesc’s goal against tottenham earlier this season, where he runs past most of the tottenham players from the center circle… even better. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZrcs-APRvg
Nice shot. Still pales in comparison to Robben’s incredible strike against MU.
Pedro’s goal against Depor in yesterday’s game was equally if not more impressive.
Cheers
Great goal but pathetic that Arsenal lost to Spurs
Great goal. Must be nice to score the best goal of your life as a teenager.
That game, in beautiful 1080 HD and roaring Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound, is the reason why I love footy. The atmosphere was unbelievable, and every single seat was empty when Bale scored. The stands were a rolling sea of flailing body limbs and thunderous cries.
I think Bentley’s goal last year against Arsenal was just as good, but this was awesome. Redknapp was “forced” to play Danny Rose due to of all the injuries in the squad and look what happens. Brilliant goal. Love it. COYS!!!
Friedel woulda saved it….Dempsey’s was better…blah blah blah. Some American soccer fans can be so annoying. Can’t you just give the guy credit for a great goal without comparing it to a USA player and trying to convince yourself and others that it wasn’t really good. Guess what? There are some talented young footballers in England that arent American.
Holy crap, that actually had me cracking up…well played.
Your Spurs have won 1 time in the last 11 years. Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every once in awhile
sticking it to arse always puts a smile on your face? lovely.
Check out the highlights on The Original Winger site for additional angles, this goal is absolutely stunning, he hit that thing absolutely perfectly, like Tiger woods taking a full swing at a golf ball in mid-air that he’s been bouncing off his wedge and then hitting it in the cup, that’s what I’d liken it to. The commentator says it best, that “Danny Rose could play another 20 years and never, ever score a goal as good as that!” So true.
Amazing strike!
how is that a wonder goal? he could have hit it anywhere on target with that power and it would have gone in because Almunia was scrambling to get up. Dempsey’s wonder strike was more impressive.
COYS! Down with Arsenal scum!!!
F’ this traitorous scum :@
The FA cup still hurts, but sticking it to ARSEnal always put a smile on my face. Coys!!!
wonder strike. I’d love to see the behind the goal angle.
Every one of us would have put that in the upper deck. Give the man some credit. That’s what you call a frozen rope!
holy shi*ite
they’re kidding, buddy.
Tell me that kid didn’t practice that every single day when he was about 11 years old and then run around cheering to himself. He can retire right now.
Seriously?!?! A first time left footed volley from way outside the box and that’s what you categorize as served up on a platter? Why can’t people just acknowledge a great goal without blaming the defense or the keeper all the time. Almunia should have probably secured that ball but it was a world class strike nonetheless.
Yura Movsisyan (sp) scored 2 for Randers today also.
Agreed. totally defense’s fault for giving him so much time and space on the ball
Wow. That’s about as spectacular as it gets.
a goal he shouldve been expected to score?!?!
Is that cuz he’s a former Sounder?
Chris Rolfe scored his first goal for AaB, the game winner.
Again, done in by a debutant. Could someone compile a list of players who have scored their first league goal against Arsenal?
Danny Rose
Wayne Rooney with Everton if memory serves me
I know there are others….anyone?
nice, but all luck
It was a pretty good goal, but I mean, Almunia gave it to him on a platter. It’s a goal he should have been expected to score, especially with such lackluster defense…
I can’t stand Redknapp, but I’m happy for Spurs fans who have had to put up with so much crap from Arsenal fans.
Not to mention some of those saves from Gomes were pretty super too.
same
Nice goal, love those hits that are 1 in a million that guys bury.
Nope, I couldn’t hear as well.
Am I the only one that can’t get the volume to work?
Friedel would’ve saved it…just sayin’
WE DID IT!!!! COYS!!!!! YESSSSS!!!!!
and yes, that was probably the best goal of the season.
SICK!!!
