La Liga and Serie A are back in action this weekend to give us a full complement of European matches on a packed menu of weekend soccer action on TV.

FC Barcelona and Real Madrid will both be on TV this weekend as we get to see how much better the Spanish powers have gotten this off-season. In Italy, AC Milan and Juventus are two of the teams who will begin their chase of defending champions Inter Milan.

In England, American goalkeepers Brad Friedel and Tim Howard renew their rivalry as Aston Villa faces Everton, while Jermaine Jones and Schalke will meet Steve Cherundolo and Hannover 96 in German Bundesliga action.

In MLS, Freddie Ljungberg's return to Qwest Field for the first time since being traded to Chicago will make for great drama, while the New York-San Jose match features two teams coming off impressive victories.
