MLS/CCL Wednesday: Your Running Commentary

MLS_Primary_COL

A ferocious rivalry. An emotional return. A hot team on the playoff hunt. CONCACAF Champions League revenge. It's all on the docket Wednesday night.

D.C. United and the New York Red Bulls meet in the rubber match of this year's Atlantic Cup, with United looking to creep up to third place in the Eastern Conference, while New York eyes the top spot and can leapfrog Sporting Kansas City for first place with a win. In New England, Shalrie Joseph returns to Gillette Stadium for the first time since the trade that shipped him to Chivas USA in a meeting of teams that combined to concede 10 goals over the weekend.

The Columbus Crew look to remain hot behind the new strike tandem of Federico Higuain and Jairo Arrieta as they take on the Philadelphia Union, while the Los Angeles Galaxy meet the Puerto Rico Islanders in a CCL group match, eyeing revenge for the 2010 preliminary round elimination at the hands of the NASL club.
