By JUSTIN FERGUSON

The newly crowned Ligue 1 champions will be action Saturday against a rival club fighting for its Champions League future.

Third-place Lille lead Saint Etienne by five points in the battle for the final Champions League spot in France, and they can nail their trip to next season’s tournament with a home victory Saturday against Paris Saint-Germain. Lille are on a 13-match unbeaten run and have something to play for today, while PSG have already clinched their trophy with two matches remaining in the Ligue 1 calendar. Despite winning the title, PSG have struggled down the stretch this season and could be on the way to another disappointing result against a determined Lille squad.

In Germany, the season’s Bundesliga action will come to an end with some late drama in their own Champions League race. Bayer Leverkusen lead Wolfsburg by just one point heading into Saturday’s action, when they will face Werder Bremen at the BayArena. Wolfsburg are on the road against Borussia Monchengladbach, who could also grab a Champions League spot with a win and some help from Werder Bremen in what is shaping up to be a fantastic finish in Germany’s top division.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Inter Milan face Lazio in a battle of Europa League proportions in the Serie A table. Second-place French side AS Monaco look to enter what could be another big-money summer with momentum as they visit relegated Valenciennes, and Pachuca will look to finish off Santos Laguna in the second leg of their Liga MX semifinal.
