Bobby Wood picked up where he left for Union Berlin on Friday, and it just so happens that his late finish rescued a point for his 2. Bundesliga side.
Wood got the second half of the season started by scoring an 86th-minute equalizer for FC Union Berlin in its 2-2 draw with Kaiserslautern. The U.S. Men’s National Team forward found the back of the net on an impressive solo effort, as he gathered the ball at the edge of the penalty area, beat three defenders on the dribble, and then caught the goalkeeper cheating slightly to the far post.
Wood, 22, played the full 90 minutes in the match. He now has 20 appearances for Union Berlin and a team-high eight goals.
Wood and Berlin, currently 11th in the league table, will return to the pitch on Feb. 14 against 1860 Munich.
