Having recently played each other in the DFB Pokal, Borussia Mönchengladbach-Werder Bremen is sure to be entertaining rematch this Friday.
The two sides played a 4-3 thriller on Dec. 15, and Werder Bremen walked away the victor. Now, they meet at Borussia-Park with each team needing all three points for different reasons. Borussia M’gladbach sits in sixth on the German Bundesliga table, but a win can vault it into fourth for the meantime. Werder Bremen is third from bottom, trying to avoid relegation.
In Spain, 10th-placed Málaga takes on 11th-placed Getafe at La Rosaleda, while an interesting match between Portuguese sides Belenenses and Benfica kicks off an hour later.
Two tasty Liga MX matchups kick off in the evening, with Tijuana-Cruz Azul at Estadio Caliente headlining the docket. Both clubs sit on five points through four games, and each side has scored at least one goal in each game played so far this season.
The U.S. Men’s National Team also plays its second friendly of the new year, a contest against Canada in Carson, California.

Bobby Wood withe equalizer in the 86th
Yeah it was pretty nice, through 2 defenders on the edge of the box, ran to the end line and went near post.
Not bad when you make multiple defenders and the goalkeeper look silly for a late equalizer. Good work, Bobby.
