Americans Abroad Wednesday Rewind: Arriola, Pulisic, Cameron

While Christian Pulisic tore Benfica apart in Portugal, another young American netted a game-winning goal back in Mexico.

Paul Arriola scored Tijuana’s lone goal in Wednesday’s Copa MX action, leading his side to a 1-0 win over Club America. Arriola was joined in the Tijuana lineup by Joe Corona and Michael Orozco, who both logged 90 minute shifts in the win.

Back in Europe, Christian Pulisic was far and away the star of the day, providing a goal and and an assist to lead Borussia Dortmund in a 4-0 win over Benfica. Pulisic’s goal proved to be the tie-winning goal, helping the German club seal a berth in the quarterfinals.
