NASL Ticker: Cosmos, Minnesota United, Strikers and more

The NASL Spring Season is still months away, but a few teams continued to bolster their rosters in the meantime.

The New York Cosmos announced the signing of Venezuelan midfielder Juan Arango. The 35-year-old is the all-time leader in appearances and goals for his country, with 127 and 23, respectively. (REPORT)

Minnesota United signed defenders Justin Davis and Kevin Venegas long-term contracts. Both players were recently named to the 2015 NASL Best XI. (REPORT)

The Fort Lauderdale Strikers signed 35-year-old Trinidad and Tobago defender Julius James to a contract after he impressed the club during the team’s friendlies against FC Schalke 04, Independiente Santa Fe, Corinthians and FC Shakhtar Donetsk. (REPORT)

FC Edmonton added English defender Adam Eckersley to its squad ahead of the 2016 NASL season. The 30-year-old product of Manchester United’s youth academy played alongside new teammate Ritchie Jones during his time in England. (REPORT)

  1. That Juan Arango signing is sure to put butts in the seats at Hofstra! Great player but 35 years old. The Cosmos are truly a retirement home: Mendes, Senna, Raul and now Arango.
