
The defending MLS Cup champions reportedly made two decisions that will likely make them a threat in MLS for years to come on Wednesday.
Fresh off of winning the 2015 MLS Cup, U.S. Men’s National Team midfielder Darlington Nagbe has reportedly signed a new four-year deal with the Portland Timbers. The 25-year-old scored five goals and provided seven assists in regular-season and postseason play for the Timbers in 2015. (REPORT)
Diego Chara has also reportedly agreed to a multi-year deal with the Timbers. The 29-year-old defensive midfielder started in all 32 games he appeared in, including postseason contests. (REPORT)
The Houston Dynamo acquired Collen Warner from Toronto FC, sending a conditional second-round pick in the 2017 MLS Draft to the Eastern Conference club. The 27-year-old appeared in 29 games for TFC last season, scoring two goals and providing two assists. (REPORT)
Following a report from Tuesday, former U.S. Men’s National Team forward Herculez Gomez was officially waived by Toronto FC on Wednesday. The 33-year-old appeared in eight regular-season and playoff matches for TFC in 2015, scoring one goal. (REPORT)
Orlando City SC defender David Mateos will be sidelined for two-to-six weeks, while Carlos Rivas will miss the club’s home opener vs. Real Salt Lake at the Citrus Bowl on Sunday. (REPORT)

Sad for Gomez. Finally made peace with MLS and now he’s been pushed out by Toronto of all places – didn’t their main striker just go down with a hammy….
If the Union are smart, they pick him up for depth similar to what they used Casey for last year. Hell, DC or Chicago could probably use him too.
Gomez is pure class as a player and a person. Someone will pick him up, hopefully someone in MLS
