Christian Pulisic’s impressive start to life in Italy continued this past weekend with the U.S. men’s national team star being among the goals once again.
Pulisic scored for the second-consecutive week as AC Milan downed Torino 4-1, moving to 2-0-0 in Serie A play. The 24-year-old earned SBI Americans Abroad Player of the Week honors as he continued to impress in the AC Milan attacking front.
Pulisic broke the deadlock at the San Siro by arriving in the box and slotting home his first goal on home soil. The USMNT attacker finished the match with 90 minutes under his belt, four duels won, and a 96% passing rate as Stefano Pioli’s men moved top of the Serie A table.
After delivering a sensational finish on his competitive club debut, Pulisic has looked to form a strong partnership already with Olivier Giroud and Rafael Leao atop the AC Milan attack. He will now have a trip to AS Roma to prepare for on September 1 before entering the international break.
Pulisic’s first Milan Derby awaits him on September 16 when the Serie A schedule resumes.

Sergino Dest

Sergino Dest didn’t have to wait long to jump right into the PSV starting lineup.
Dest logged 81 minutes in PSV’s 2-2 first leg draw at Rangers in UEFA Champions League Qualifying. The Barcelona loanee arrived in Eindhoven on Monday and slotted in at left back on Tuesday night in Glasgow.
Dest completed a match-high five dribbles, while also winning eight duels and completing one tackle attempt. The 22-year-old will seek advancement to the group stage on Wednesday night at the Philips Stadion.
Johnny Cardoso

Johnny Cardoso has continued to play important minutes for Brazilian club Internacional this summer.
The 21-year-old logged 90 minutes in a 1-0 Copa Libertadores victory over Bolivar last week. He won four duels, completed two tackles, made two interceptions, and made five clearances as the Serie A side placed one foot into the semifinals.
Internacional hosts Bolivar in the second leg on Tuesday.
Duane Holmes

Preston North End moved to 3-1-0 in the early stages of the EFL Championship season as Duane Holmes played the hero on Saturday.
Holmes scored the winning goal in a 2-1 home victory over Swansea City, giving Preston North End 10 points out of 12 available so far. The veteran midfielder slotted home in the 79th minute as Ryan Lowe’s squad held on for an important home result.
Holmes won six of nine duels, completed both of his dribble attempts, and scored with his only shot on target.
Timothy Weah

Timothy Weah earned his second-straight start for Juventus on Sunday and walked away with a confident performance in Turin.
Weah logged 82 minutes in a 1-1 Serie A draw with Bologna, featuring heavily as a right wing back in Massimiliano Allegri’s squad. The 23-year-old registered one shot on goal, won four of his five duels, and drew one foul.
Weah helped Juventus earn one point in the final moments heading into next week’s trip to Empoli.
