Colorado Rapids have been waiting weeks to get Conor Casey back from a strained hamstring, but now the Rapids will be forced to play without their most dangerous player.

Colorado striker Omar Cummings is set to miss 2-4 weeks with a sprained ankle suffered during the Rapids' 2-1 win vs. Houston last Wednesday.

The Rapids are set to face D.C. United on Saturday, and will be without Cummings and Irish striker Caleb Folan, who is nursing a groin strain. With Casey still working his way back to full fitness, Colorado may be forced to field the forward tandem of Quincy Amarikwa and Andre Akpan.

Wow. So difficult for the league to try and gain some international respect when its most talented players keep falling left and right.

  • Adrian

No skilled player would want to come here and find themselves with a broken leg.

  • Supsam

this was a sprained ankle not a leg break. Lets not start grouping incidents together shall we. Foul causing ankle sprains occur in every league

  • Mir

Another star out…Who’s next? Donovan, Beckham, Henry, Agudelo, Davies????

  • Travis

Unfortunate but a sprained ankle can happen with even the slightest misstep. Sucks to lose another talented player for any stretch of time though

I meant for MLS as a whole. Not just for the Rapids.

Not sure how injuries to Casey, Folan and Cummings are some kind of karmic justice. They didn’t break Zak’s leg.

Why the sarcasm? Do you not think Mondaini should be punished? I know that you are a Chivas fan.

  • Daniel

That talented player actually caused the foul on the play when he got hurt.

  • rory

I’m just waiting for the MLS fan lynch-mob to start shouting for the Houston player that injured the ankle to be forced to sit out until Cummings is back.

  • Rory

Hey Gashole, did you say that when RSL lost a big playmaker last week? I mean, we’ve all seen how Kyle Beckerman plays so that might make sense!

You know, if Karma really existed.
