The schedule for Week 6 in the MLS season includes several intriguing matches, and the referees who will officiate them have been announced.

Professional Referee Organization (PRO) named on Tuesday the officiating crews for this upcoming weekend’s matches and next Wednesday’s game between the New York Red Bulls and Philadelphia Union. Some of the men who have been put in charge with manning the middle include Dave Ganter (Toronto FC-Colorado Rapids), Alan Kelly (Union-Real Salt Lake) and Allen Chapman (D.C. United-Red Bulls).

Jair Marrufo and Baldomero Toledo have also been appointed matches. Marrufo will oversee the LA Galaxy-Vancouver Whitecaps clash and Toledo is set to ref the Portland Timbers-Chivas USA encounter.

There is only one referee’s name that i know. And as long as he isn’t officiating the Sounders game I’m happy.

Yup, He helped us out last week I guess, but I’m glad we’ll have a good ref so no one blames officiating when FCD run riot on your flounders!

haha, nice. Is this ref a good one? I think the guy who did Sounders v Timbers last week did a great job. Announcers said he was the current MLS Ref of the year.

Side note, being from Austin who do most people in the area typically root for, Houston or Dallas?

As a ref, I appreciate this new feature. How about SBI start naming a “SBI MLS Officiating Crew of the Week”, and videos of “Must See Calls”?

Seems fair. If we’re gonna tear apart bad decisions, it’s only fair we applaud difficult but correct ones.

This may be MLS 2.0, but we are still in PRO 1.0. I echo what JK and others have said this year. Too many top players are getting hurt. Brad Davis went down for Houston last week to add to the count.
