He may be one of the shortest players in MLS, but Sebastian Giovinco packs a heavy punch and a dazzling skill set, and both were consistently on display in the month of May.

Giovinco enjoyed a month of stellar strikes and threaded through-ball assists. Overall, he tallied two goals and three assists in May, and his play has earned him recognition as SBI MLS Player of the Month.

In the past month, he’s scored sumptuous game-winners and also has played a vital part in most of Toronto FC’s goals. The ‘Atomic Ant’ heavily contributed for Toronto FC to close out the month of May, bagging a goal and two assists in the team’s last two matches. His contributions helped TFC walk away with all three points both times and has vaulted it into fourth in the Eastern Conference.

Giovinco beat out Benny Feilhaber, Kei Kamara, Marco Pappa and Krisztian Nemeth for May’s honors.

What did you think of Giovinco’s play in May? Which player stood out the most to you last month?
