Americans Abroad: Saturday Rewind

A pair of Americans Abroad created goals in England, while one winger completed a long-awaited return to the starting lineup on Saturday.

Duane Holmes was the lone American to score a goal on Saturday, firing the second of two goals as Scunthorpe tied Sheffield Wednesday, 2-2. In the Championship, DeAndre Yedlin did his part in forcing a goal of his own, as his cross was deflected in for an own goal in a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa. It wasn’t all positive for Yedlin, though, who was removed from the match prematurely due to an apparent injury.

In Norway, Josh Gatt completed his return to the Molde lineup as the winger made his first start since 2013 in a 3-1 defeat to Rosenborg. Elsewhere, Perry Kitchen’s first match as Hearts captain ended in a 0-0 draw, while Geoff Cameron and Stoke City snapped their losing streak in a 1-1 draw with West Brom.
