Americans Abroad Midweek Preview: Pulisic, Johnson, Yedlin and more

It’s a big week for Americans Abroad, especially for a pair of U.S. Men’s National Team regulars looking to fight on in European competitions.

Christian Pulisic and Borussia Dortmund face a 1-0 deficit against Benfica as they head into the second leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash on Wednesday. Pulisic, who entered as an 81st minute substitute in the opening leg, has made seven Champions League appearances this season with five of them coming via starts.

Fabian Johnson also returns for European action as Borussia Monchengladbach faces a familiar foe. The Europa League Round of 16 kicks off for Johnson and co. on Thursday afternoon as they face fellow Bundesliga side Schalke.

In domestic action, Geoff Cameron looks to continue his push towards fitness on Wednesday in a Premier League clash between Stoke City and Manchester City. The USMNT defender returned to the Stoke City lineup this past week, playing his first full 90 minute game since suffering a knee injury in October.

Elsewhere, DeAndre Yedlin and Danny Williams face off in a battle of Championship contenders while the Copa MX continues as several Americans prepare to take the field.
