Soccer Tuesday: Your Running Commentary

It’s a Champions League-packed day in soccer as several continental competitions resume on Tuesday.

The round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League continues with Leicester City trying to overcome a 2-1 deficit at home against Sevilla. A 1-0 win at the King Power Stadium would be enough for the Premier League champions to advance to the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, Juventus will try to build on its 2-0 away victory in the first leg versus FC Porto.

The CONCACAF Champions League semifinals begin with Liga MX Apertura champions Tigres hosting the Vancouver Whitecaps in their first-ever CCL semi.

Over in Germany, Christian Pulisic and Borussia Dortmund will play Sportfreunde Lotte after their DFB Pokal quarterfinal was postponed on Feb. 28 due to snow. The winner faces Bayern Munich in the semis.

In South America, the Copa Libertadores group stage is highlighted by Botafogo taking on Estudiantes in a battle between Brazilian and Argentinean clubs. The Copa MX also continues tonight in Mexico.

Enjoy the games.

Video will come soon but since there’s no one posting I’ll elaborate. Slick play between Dembele and Pulisic. Pulisic made a diagonal run across his face and Dembele slotted a heavy no-look pass that he knew Pulisic could run onto ahead of the defender. Pulisic finished with his trademark composure beyond his years.

I’ve only watched about 40 minutes of the Leicester sevilla game but this ref has been atrocious both ways. Baffling how bad some of these “professionals” can be.
