Danny Williams could miss time with foot injury

Danny Williams earned his first Premier League start with Huddersfield Town last weekend, but his second may not come right away.

The American midfielder had a strong game when the Terriers hosted Leicester City on Saturday, but he could miss this coming weekend’s action with a foot injury sustained in that match. Williams also missed the midweek League Cup loss to Crystal Palace with the knock.

He’s set for further examination on Wednesday and an update on his status should arrive on Thursday afternoon.

Williams came to Huddersfield Town over the summer after four years with Reading. He is battling for the starting midfield role with Jonathan Hogg and Philip Billing.

  1. The timing couldn’t be worse. By all accounts he had an excellent performance and start last league match and looked poised to possibly win the starting role. We just don’t have the depth to deal with injuries, we also don’t have the depth to ignore players earning regular minutes in top leagues.

On another note, any else think it might be worth seeing Jeff Lawrentowicz used at CDM given his form with Atlanta United. As an Atlanta fan he seems play the role very well and it would allow Bradley to play the box2box role with Klejstan or Pulisic at CAM.

  2. let’s hope this doesn’t linger which would be criminal considering that he seemed to have gained some momentum minutes wise with the club smh
