My take on the Twellman transfer situation

OK folks, as you probably figured out by now, I won’t have the combine review done at a reasonable hour tonight. I’m working on it right now and it will likely be one of those late-night posts.

If you haven’t seen it, I provided my take on Taylor Twellman’s transfer drama on For those of you who have missed it, Preston North End made a $2.5 million offer to New England for Twellman and the Revs turned it down. Twellman was none too pleased and has voiced his displeasure on several fronts.

What do I see happening? Nothing. Twellman has a contract and a national team place to protect so he can’t really do something like hold out. The Preston deal is already dead so there really isn’t much he can do.

What do you think about Twellman’s situation? Do you think the Revs should have given more consideration to the transfer offer? Do you think Twellman should honor his contract and stop talking about a new deal? Do you think he should be the Revs’ designated player? Share your thoughts below.

  1. “Taylor –

Its PNE. They’re about to be relegated from the Championship, so this is nothing more than a money grab for you. Hence, its not an opportunity for you to do anything but play third tier football in England.”

Umm, I’ll take third tier football in England over the MLS any day. Some people need to wake up to the quality of the MLS right now, which is not good.
