Good evening folks. Tonight is the night the Houston Dynamo takes on Pachuca in the SuperLiga semifinals. Can the Dynamo finally beat their rivals from Mexico? Will Miguel Calero work his magic yet again?

If you will be watching tonight’s match (10pm, Telefutura), please feel free to share your thoughts, opinions and some play-by-play in the comments section below. I will try to do some running commentary on the match but can’t promise it yet.

Enjoy the match.

  1. Ives,

Can you please tell us about a kid that plays for the US that is 15 years old and goes by the name “NIMO” I heare he is really good. Is that true or all hype?

  2. I used to respect Pachuca more then the likes of Chivas, I once thought they had a little more class about them but now they seem to be a typical Mexican side with absolutely no class or honour. Its pathetic

  3. For anyone who has actually played football, you know that sometimes the calls don’t go your way. That doesn’t in any way excuse the poor sportsmanship on display. Considering that they are payed tons of money to represent the beautiful game, and those below them look to the players for an example of how the game should be played, the actions of the Mexican players after the game are pathetic.

Who hasn’t had a call go against them from time to time? Does that mean you can lose it and cry like a baby all over the pitch?

  4. Kudos to Torres and Calero for showing some class after the match. Their teammates? Not so much.

And Nick, BAD example my friend. Bad example.

  5. Don’t understand the tainted talk… Is Germany’s win over the US 5 years ago “tainted” because of the questionable handball in the box? NO! That’s the way the game goes. Sometimes you benefit from a bad call and sometimes you get screwed… BTW: Go Pachuca… Way to lose with class!

  10. GOAL DYNAMO. Corey Ashe with an unmarked header in the 87th minute off a perfect cross from Mullan. Houston 2, Pachuca 0 and this one is over.

  11. Waching the game in a bar, waibel’s dad is next to us, interestingly enough. Anyway wants to know if that goal was unassisted.

  12. Regarding the offside. It is clear that in general, lines men are to darn slow to keep up with the play are are regularly calling plays offside from impossible angles. You need to be even with the last defender, and he clearly wasnt. A great goal.

  13. I would have like for Ro to make the GOL but hey he did serve the corner. I will say that Pachuca has played better….with exception to Onstad who has had an incredible game….

  14. 77th minute-GOAL HOUSTON- Bobby Boswell with the side volley tap-in off a corner redirected by Waibel. Houston 1, Pachuca 0.

  15. that off- side call was ridiculous. beautiful play by pachuca and the ref pulled it out of his ***. its obvious what team he’s wants to win

  16. I just started watching after the half, but already it is so obvious how much more skillful the Pachuca players are. Could be 3-0 just in the last 10 mins alone.

  17. Onstad’s coming up big. Couldn’t tell if he saved that last one with his hand or if the Pachuca player shot it into his leg. In any event, the Pachuca player should have done better – he had the whole net.

  18. Hmm, I don’t know, I’m pulling for Houston but would say that Los Tuzos have the upper hand so far. I’m baffled as to how their off-the-ball movement is better than Houston’s at this stage in their season.

  19. 37th minute- Calero stones DeRosario, who passes up a chance to dish to Jaqua in font o goal and takes a sharp-angled shot that Calero baited him into.

  20. Yeah Nate Jaqua is looking pretty good out there. If he starts playing well again – No doubt Houston will bid for the cup again.

  21. 8′ DeRo with an amazing long-range volley, but Calero managed to get his fingers on it and tip it over

Field looks terrible, but the Dynamo are making it look smooth with some great passing.

Nate Jaqua looks like the impressive one of last year, not the LA or CHI versions. He’s a lot more mobile than I remember.
