I remember Obasi from the Olympics vs. USA. I remember thinking, “Big deal, WTF is Hoffenheim? Some team in the regional German leagues?”
The guy has some serious game. At the time, we didn’t know what a good team the 10-man USA lost to. That was a tough group that we would have won if not for Sacha’s jump in the wall vs Dutch and Orozco’s red card. Hope they learned from that, but I’d rather see some young USA players on an attacking team like Hoffenheim.
Oh, to have Ibisevic up top with Jozy and Freddy or Landon in a three-pronged attack, a la Hoffenheim.
