  2. Ja. and we have Altidore, Donovan, Davies, Cooper and Ching. Ching probably won’t even make it to the roster of the last few games of qualifying much less the World Cup. Davies and Cooper need more games to shake their rusty look and emerge. Davies would be a great super-sub though. Each game Altidore becomes more of the striker we truly need him to be.

  3. England has the following strikers who can be used for WC qualifying or for the WC.

    Wayne Rooney

    Peter Crouch

    Jermaine Defoe

    Darren Bent

    Gabriel Agbonlahor

and on the periphery you have Michael Owen and Dean Ashton.

Not too shabby. I imagine Rooney/Agbonlahor will be partnered up top with Defoe/Crouch being super subs.

  4. Remember when Tony Meola was the best goalie in the world for a day against England?

Remember when Tim Howard was the best in the world for a day against Argentina?

Hes on his way to a second day like that with three great reflex, close range saves already.

  5. Bradley went the full 90 for BMG but they lost again. IT will be a long enduring season if they are going to keep from being relegated. They need a goal scorer cause Rob Friend just ain’t cutting it. 5 goals in 20 matches already.

  6. krista: the guardian liveblog says man united is wearing them because of the anniversary of the munich air disaster but every game ive seen today both teams are wearing it so i dont know what else it is unless theyre all wearing them for that.

  7. If only EJ could play 15 or 20mins in the game against Arsenal, maybe he could score a goal. Sounds kinda sad but i still hold hope for that guy. If he could score some goals, he could be a possible standby for the World Cup. He has speed and he creates chances for the team. Just like Brian Ching, though neither of them can actually score against decent competition.

Was it the game against Poland where both struggled endlessly to score against Poland? Shite.

  8. Nevland is a hero for Fulham. I have a feeling Zamora just lost his starting spot to him. And Dempsey shows his form again as usual. About time AJ has scored again. He hasn’t scored in the Premier League since November i believe. His 5th league goal in 20games.

  9. Brad Guzan is a solid no.2 for AV and should be getting tons more time as the FA Cup winds on down and the UEFA Cup turns the heat up. Though i would like him to get a loan to maybe a Championship team to get PT, i think him sticking with AV and ajusting is the best.

Friedel is 1 of the top20 GK’s in the world. But it seems only the English or us Americans know it.

  11. Kljestan is heading to Dutch or German club this summer.

Davies is moving up to a French or German club.

Gooch is heading to Marseille or PSG

Freddy Adu is probably heading back to Benfica or maybe a loan to a Dutch club.

    Things are getting done.

  12. I’m praying for Timmy to keep a cleansheet and for someone at Everton to score the winning goal against Man U. Liverpool needs to win to take the lead of the league. Come on Reds. Help out Everton.

  13. Steve Cherundolo is a LEGEND at Hannover. Been part of the team for a decade now and still has 5 quality years in him. Just hope they can rise again and get back in UEFA Cup football.

  17. Anybody know why Steve Cherundolo isn’t starting for Hannover? It looks like the RB who started in his stead scored the opening goal in their mad… This makes me nervous.
