With transfer deadline here, what need does your team still have?

MLS_Logo

It's April 15th, which means two things. It is the last day to file your taxes (unless you get an extension) and it is the last day for MLS teams to sign players during the winter transfer window.

With New York's acquisition of Salvadoran defender Alfredo Pacheco and Houston's acquisition of defender Andrew Hainault looking like the only significant signings to be completed this week, this year's transfer deadline looks to be a tame one. The only problem is that there are still teams with key needs.

The April 15th deadline doesn't mean teams can no longer sign players. MLS teams can still sign players who are free agents, but finding unemployed players who can actually help a team isn't exactly easy.

What need does your team still have that wasn't addressed in this window? Is your club heading toward the summer still weak in central defense, or at forward? Think your team can make due until this summer's transfer window, or will the weak spot wind up costing your team in the chase for a playoff spot?

  1. Wow there is kinda a sense of entitlement from the Sounders fans and it is a little disgusting to the rest of the fans. You are an expansion team that somehow got the likes of Montero, Lundberg, Keller, Alonzo, and Le Toux all under the salary cap with a DP. That is not to mention all the other quality MLS players to fill out the roster.

Personally I am sitting here wondering how in the hell they pulled off that magic routine and you are calling for a second DP spot? You have 3 guys that should have been DPs. It took RSL years to put together a roster that is talented and deep. I am also extremely jealous of your kit, colors and name. So I think I can speak for all the rest of the fans who have gone through growing pains when I say that we don’t want to hear you whine about needing another DP.

  2. Loooooooo!

Sounders could use a new LB, probably. But then we are getting back some injured players, so then it will all be good!

Looooooo, if Red Bull beats Sounders 3-0 in Seattle in the MLS Cup semis I will personally buy you a beer after the game. Hell, we’ll be pumped just to be in the playoffs as an expansion team. That would be a good time.

    Rastafari,
Fine maybe that is the case but if the red bulls did have dates and it was in any way in proportion to our suckyness than they would be some pretty ugly grimy dates so congrats u frosh got VD. And you may be playing better than us, but ur high school analogy has more truth in it than u realize becuase like freshman u r uneducated which is proven by ur lack of knowledge about this league, and like freshman ur cocky, weird little bastards that everyone hates, and eventually ur day will come when u get ur little asses beat by us seniors. We can do analogies here in jersey as well kid.

    P.S.
