Let the celebrations begin.

Despite not having a single shot on goal, Manchester United won the English Premier League title on Saturday after drawing 0-0 with Arsenal. The league title is Manchester United's third consecutive and 18th overall.

The Red Devils weren't the only ones to capture their respective league's title either. Despite not playing Saturday, Barcelona were crowned La Liga Champions as Real Madrid lost whatever slim hopes they had of retaining the title by losing to Villarreal, 3-2.

With Barcelona and Manchester United having captured their league trophies, they will now turn their focus on the Champions League final where the two prestigious clubs will face off on May 27 in the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

What do you think of Manchester United and Barcelona winning their league titles? Will they repeat next year? Who will win the Champions League final?

  1. “Anyone else getting bored with ManU winning all the time?”

    No.

Yo Setanta Sports US sucked up the coverage of the trophy ceremony big time. They showed the MUTV broadcast of the game at 1am this morning. I DVRed it and hopefully they get the trophy ceremony down. Setanta was showing interviews w/ Wenger in French right in the middle of the ceremony.

  2. Three straight league titles? Champions League title? Not bad for for a team that was destined for immediate relegation after the Glazers took over? Burning effigies, public protests, creation of an alternative “pure” team to support…FFS. Most obnoxious fans e-v-e-r.

  4. Red Bulls could CRUSH Red Devils, hands down. Osorio could outmaneuver Fergie any day of this week – and next week too.

  5. Methinks todays lineup v Arsenal was a bit of a preview for the lineup they will field v Barca.

    VdS
    O’Shea/Vidic/Ferdinand/Evra
    Carrick/Anderson
    Rooney Park
    Ronaldo

    or I would prefer

    VdS
    O’Shea/Vidic/Ferdinand/Evra
    Carrick/Anderson
    Ronaldo Rooney
    Tevez

but I think Park gets the start to counter the Barca attack. Not sure who else could play in the Anderson/Fletcher spot. I expect Fergie will keep Giggs and Scholes and Nani in reserve.

Barca folks, what lineup do you expect?

  6. assuming CR07 doesn’t move, both can repeat. As for Rome? Barca dominates possession in the middle, but man utd wins 3-0 goals from ronaldo, and rooney on the counters. And that assumes valdes is still playing out of his mind. Barca hasn’t seen a team defense like Man utd’s yet, nor the counter speed and finishing. Likewise, man utd hasn’t seen an offense or posession game like the catalans have. That all works out to the trophy going back to Manchester.
