Where will you be watching USA vs. Costa Rica?

by GIANFRANCO PANIZO

With kickoff approximately six hours away, it is time to start making those last-minute phone calls and preparations as the United States men's national team takes on Costa Rica in the only World Cup qualifier being played today.

The match, slated to start at 10pm ET on ESPN2 and Galavision, pits the top two teams in the CONCACAF standings against one another in a battle for first place. The United States has never won at Saprissa Stadium in qualifying and tonight might be their last opportunity to do so as Saprissa is set to close next fall.

Where will Ives be tonight? At no other venue than Saprissa Stadium of course. As for me? Well, I'll be watching the game from home as I missed out on my chance to fly to Costa Rica.

Tell us where YOU will be watching the game tonight and for fun, throw in a prediction or two in the comments section below.

  2. At my apartment in Mississippi. That is the only place I can go and cheer and yell for my team without people looking at me funny. I need a soccer bar.

  4. Like Igor, I’m under the weather so I plan to watch at home in glorious HD. But I’ll break out my jersey and scarf and will hope nothing too bad happens so I don’t wake up my kids.

My heart says US wins 2-1. My head says Costa Rica 1-0.

  9. Anybody,

I have heard the game switched to ESPN2 due to available space, pregame fluff and being able to watch the event from the beginning. Great.

If it is taking the slot of NCAA women’s softball on ESPN2 my guide must be screwy because that is scheduled to begin at 5pm Pacific or 8pm eastern. I wish the TV guides would get updated as changes were made.

  10. On my couch/chair some, standing up some, screaming at the TV some at my house in Charlotte, NC. Not alot of places to watch soccer game at 10pm on Wednesday in Charlotte. We have a USA official bar in Uptown Charlotte but the game is kinda late and getting buy in from the little lady on a school night is hard. GO USA.

  12. I’ll be at a “Mexican” restaurant in Tallahassee that is just down the street from my office. It is actually run and staffed by people from all over Central America. I am the only gringo they let in after hours, so I will probably be the only one there rooting for the USMNT. But, that will actually make it seem like I’m at the stadium.

  13. I’d like to say from my couch, but I tend to stand in the middle of my living room screaming at the tv for every USMNT game.
