Happy 4th of July from SBI

WaivingFlag

It is the Fourth of July, the day to celebrate our country's independence, as well as to enjoy a holiday.

There is plenty of soccer to watch today between your trips to the beach, the park and the grill, between MLS action and the U.S. national team's opening Gold Cup match against Grenada.

We here at SBI are enjoying the holiday as well, but we will also be bringing you coverage of all the day's soccer action. Be sure to check in throughout the day.

Have a Happy Independence Day.

  1. Well my day was soured by the loss of our local legend Steve McNair. A true symbol of leadership and mental and physical toughness. I know this is a soccer site but I’m sure most of you follow football and realize that a guy who is too hurt to practice but leads a team to 5 straight wins is special.

A good win tonight would really cheer me up!

  3. “must be new concept to some here.”

Jackie, you should check your own spelling before trying to poke fune at other people. Learn where the letter ‘a’ is on the keyboard and where it belongs in a sentence.

    Lol, Never First.

Happy 4th everybody. It’ll be nice to celebrate with a United States victory.

  4. Jackie, I like how you make fun of other people’s spelling and then write “duel citizenship” lol. Are they going to fight over it?

  5. Jackie –

Learn to lighten up, it was obviously a joke. And thanks for being a spell checker, do you feel cool now?

Happy birthday Uncle Sam and Yankee Doodle.

  7. Thanks, Ives. Hope you have a great holiday too.

I woner if Judassi Rossi celebrates the 4th of July. He seems more likely to celebrate the birthday of Benedict Arnold. Anyway, I’ll be raising my beer in a salute to Jermaine Jones this afternoon.

Some people just have no class nor can spell. What gives?

  8. Try singing “proud to be an american” while imagining a montage of slow-action clips from Jermaine Jones, Rossi, Edgar Castillo and David Regis.

  9. While I don’t really care about Rossi,
I do think it would be somewhat humorous if he and his family celebrated July 4th in anyway.

Honestly if you grow up in the US its hard not to have the date imprinted into your psyche. Honestly, it would take a lot of mental strength and effort to grow up here until the age of 13 and then forget what the day means when you 20, 21, or whatever age he is now.

    It’s just interesting to ponder.
