Chicago Fire defender Bakary Soumare is replacing Brian Ching on the MLS All-Star Game roster. Ching is being excused from the All-Star Game to recover from the CONCACAF Gold Cup, where he has started for the U.S. men's national team.
Soumare is coming off an MLS Best XI season and will be making his first MLS All-Star Game appearance.
The MLS All-Stars face English club Everton, led by U.S. goalkeeper Tim Howard, on June 29th at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah.
New England Revolution midfielder Shalrie Joseph is also expected to be removed from the MLS All-Star Team due to injury. Real Salt Lake midfielder Will Johnson has been selected to replace Joseph. The MLS All-Star team has already had to replace Dwayne DeRosario (scheduling conflict) and Guillermo Barros Schelotto (hamstring injury).

It is hard for a collection of players to do well. Everton’s players will have better chemistry than the MLS all-stars. I still expect an MLS victory, but wouldn’t be shocked if Everton won.
Although if were talking about good fullbacks, perhaps they should have picked Segares instead of Soumare from the fire.

Although, I think Everton are a better team than West Ham. They have Lescott, Cahill, Arteta. West Ham didn’t even play their top players.

will johnson over Clint Mathis is a joke. Mathis has easily been the most consitant if not best player for RSL all season long and deserved a nod for the all-star team.
