Late goals were the order of the weekend for some of Europe's biggest clubs. Dimitar Berbatov completed his hat-trick in the 84th minute to give Manchester United a 3-2 win over arch-rivals Liverpool, while Arsenal were held by Sunderland on a stoppage time goal from Darren Bent.

In Spain, Real Madrid got a 74th minute winner from Cristiano Ronaldo against Real Sociedad, while Samuel Eto'o bagged a brace after the hour mark to give Inter Milan a 2-1 win over Palermo and a share of the league lead in Italy.

Tottenham also waited until the last minute to secure three points, getting three goals after the 75th minute to down Wolves.

Not everyone needed late-game heroics, however. Chelsea easily disposed of Blackpool 4-0, and in Germany, Stuttgart romped 7-0 over Moenchengladbach.
