Tim Howard and Everton did something this weekend that they had yet to do this season.

The Toffees finally won.

Howard and Everton earned their first three points of the Premiership campaign as they defeated Birmingham, 2-0, at St Andrews Stadium. The result marked Howard's second cleansheet of the season despite him not having to make a save in the match.

This weekend was one to remember for Luis Robles, who earned his first start for his new club, Karlsruhe. Robles helped Karlsruhe avoid defeat while also improving his chances of getting more playing time with five saves in the club's 1-1 draw against FC Ingolstadt 04.

It wasn't all good news this weekend. Jermaine Jones was ejected from Schalke 04's 2-1 loss against Nurnberg, while Jonathan Spector once again failed to dress for West Ham United in its 1-1 draw with Fulham.

  1. So good to see Eddie Johnson getting minutes in the EPL! I have to say, I wish Rossi were still on this list even though he decided to play for Italy. I’ve forgiven him, and I think we should celebrate anyone who grew up in New Jersey and can score consistently in La Liga.

  2. just becasue the ref missed de jongs foul doesnt mean it dint happen. The fact that his own national team coach dropped him should speak volumes

  3. He’s been playing in the CFA with Sochaux’s reserves since August. Hasn’t scored much, but he did pick up a red card in early September, which forced him out three matches.

I think he will possibly be moved. Sochaux signed Ideye Brown as a replacement for Davies in January 2010, then signed Modibo Maiga in the summer, when it was determined Davies wouldn’t be ready. Brown and Maiga have great chemistry and with the possible emergence of youngsters Cedric Bakambu, Serdar Gurler, and Rafael Dias, who all just signed pro contracts, it might be hard for Davies to get back into the team.
