Robin Fraser is putting his stamp on Chivas USA.

The Los Angeles based club began their preseason preparations today and change was in the air for the club on their first day of practice. Fraser announced that the Cuban forward Maykel Galindo, Costa Rican defender Dario Delgado and Mexican winger Rodolfo Espinoza were not continuing  with the club. Galindo was a force for the Rojiblancos in 2007, but has battled injuries and poor form since.

Espinoza and Delgado were both brought in by previous head coach Martin Vasquez and were largely ineffective in the 2010 campaign. The departures come after forward Giancarlo Maldonado and winger Osael Romero were also released from the club during the preseason.

In addition, former Mexican U-17 goalkeeper Sergio Arias, veteran Mexican defender Joaquin Beltran and Chivas USA fan favorite, Francisco "Panchito" Mendoza are training with the club.

The Rojiblancos start their season on March 19th against Sporting KC.

    Jazic — Conrad — Umana — Trujillo

  2. This. I’m personally bummed but this was better for both parties. I do believe he had a girlfriend in Seattle. He loves LA so maybe he goes with the Gals.
    That’s zerofool’s team.

  3. Rojiblanco? Really? The team releases the only latinos left in the squad, and they’re gonna try to cop the “rojiblancos”? Lame.

  4. Galindo was such a promising player a few years ago. I got to watch him when he was with the USL Seattle Sounders. I hope he’s able to get his career back on track with another team.

  5. I agree, Galindo is a guy with speed and skill, and finishes well too. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to re-capture his from from from years ago but maybe he can do it with DCU.

  6. Gotta say I’m shocked they’re releasing Galindo…. can’t imagine Seattle not jumping right on that. Fastest man in North America and they can’t find a spot for him? Form problems? Isn’t that what the preseason is for…..?
