  1. Settle down,

no one is saying Cooper is as good as Messi. He is charismatic, fiery, he gives his all McBride style, and him hanging on the goal screaming after a goal was perfect for the video.

Adidas is trying to sell clothes, not pick your best XI and I will be shocked if Portland isn’t closed to the top in that catagory this year.

  2. RBNY Coach Hans Backe has been aware of Agudelo’s situation hence the reason why he is not rushing his development the same way the previous organization at RBNY rushed Jozy Altidore. Keep in mind that Agudelo is not a starter fro RBNY. Nonetheless, there is a lot of talent

  3. I respect Kenny Cooper, but to put him in an ad with Messi is a little silly. Actually I have no idea what this ad is supposed to be for.

  4. I watched the game the other day. US was all over Ghana that game. Especially in the second half. Ghana just put away their two chances. If we had Edu and Feilhaber starting. We would have won no doubt.

  5. I don’t think so. Ghana just seemed to be playing in a different gear than the whole U.S. team. Just one of those nights.

  6. No real comments on the players or what teams are deserving to be shown, but as far as commercials go, I thought it was a pretty sweet ad.

  7. Cooper hasn’t found his scoring touch yet, but like Le Toux for Philly, he does the little things to help the attack. Without him, PDX is nowhere…

  8. Agudelo’s self volley-turn and fire goal was one of the best in MLS.

I only hope the modest (compared with Adu’s or even Jozy’s) Agudelo hype machine is vindicated with substance in the next few years. Well, actually I hope the hype machine is vindicated in the next GC match by Agudelo scoring a hat trick.

  9. I knew a guy who died when he was doing pull-ups on a old rusted out goal post in Spain. And I thought this was a completely isolated accident.

  10. Nice! But someone tell Kenny Cooper not to set a bad example for kids. Too many kids have died from toppled goals in playgrounds by hanging onto goals like that! Where are the Adidas lawyers with their warning: “Professional athlete, anchored goal, do not attempt at home.”

  11. I think its funny they show Portland who is new to the league but no clips of a dallas player or a rapids player even though they both played for the championship

  12. He was injured wasn’t he? Better question is why did Rico start at all over the likes of Edu?

Problem is next year we could well be asking ourselves “could we have won the Gold Cup over Mexico if Bedoya had started over robbie rogers?”

  13. He still deserves to be in this commercial a hundred times more than Kenny freakin’ Cooper. Seriously… Kenny Cooper in an “MLS All-Star” commercial? Hahahaha.. Is it 2007 again?
Could really do without having to see Beckham in any MLS capacity ever again as well. Why not put some footage of him in the ManU Gary Neville retirement parade?

  14. Yeah, it’s nice, but I’m not lovin’ it as much as I am the new “Date with a Sounder” spots. Those are must-see commercials from an advertising case-study perspective.

  15. Off Topic Question: Would we have beaten Ghana in the WC if we had Jermaine Jones starting instead of Ricardo Clark?
