The Carling Cup quarterfinals aren't typically must-see TV, but when the draw for this year's edition was conducted, it resulted in some mouth-watering matchups between England's top teams.
Chelsea and Liverpool will do battle for one spot in the semifinals, while Arsenal and Manchester City clash for another. Even though plenty of reserves are expected to see time in both contests, they both still promise to provide a nice slice of mid-week entertainment.
A couple of other league matchups around Europe are appealing as well, as Barcelona will look to come back from its first defeat of its league campaign at home against Rayo Vallecano, and Napoli and Juventus square off in a meeting of two of Italy's top sides.
Here's the TV schedule for Tuesday's matches:
2:45 p.m. – FoxSoccer.tv – Chelsea vs. Liverpool
2:45 p.m. – Fox Soccer Channel – Napoli vs. Juventus
3 p.m. – Fox Soccer Plus/FoxSoccer.tv – Arsenal vs. Manchester City
3 p.m. – ESPN3.com – Barcelona vs. Rayo Vallecano
If you will be watching any of Tuesday's games, please feel free to share any thoughts, opinions and some play-by-play in the comments section below. Enjoy the action.
it’s a Fox affiliate…can’t be that surprised!
@Khan : Your friend is not so nice.
So are they even going to do the Carling Cup draw, or will they just schedule Man U with Cardiff City now to save everyone some time? #bitter.
You used to watch Dream Team?…
That’s a simply astounding record, 11 consecutive home clean sheets.
Drunk irishman talking trash on ESPN’s Barcelona feed. A 2 game suspension for time wasting? Come on.
It’s like a sound studio mixer board with sliders for defense, attacking, beast mode, etc.
Guardiola keeps it on the sideline to build the drama.
A friend of mine used a fake question to get on the show once and asked Wylanda about Harkes and his wife haha
They have sliders for that.
Then they don’t even have the two shows I used to watch a few years ago anymore: Dream Team reruns and Fox Football Fone-in (pre-Wynalda).
No kidding. Bad enough I have to buy some stupid package full of channels I don’t want/won’t ever watch to get Fox Soccer, but I then am expected to pay twice as much for the plus so I can watch a handful of good games plus rugby?
Don’t call me a hoe!
Yeah, wtf is right, it blew my mind lol
Xavi is incredible but I doubt even he is capable of intentionally doing that. That being said, if it was what he intended to do then all I have to say is wtf lol
Uhh Barcelona just flipped the beast mode switch for the end of the half. I couldn’t score these goals on a video game if I tried.
Na$ri is just not having a good game. Clearly wanted to be subbed. I think the crowd is getting in his head
If Xavi intended to do that then it’s the most incredible pass I’ve ever seen in my life.
12 million for oxlade-chamberlain looks like a bargain.
Fox Soccer is turning into a trash company. Adding two additional pay services on top of their channel and then transitioning the watched games to those services is crap.
Hoe did Park not score? He was 4 yards out!
+1
agreed!
So I pay good money for Fox Soccer and I still can’t watch Arsenal vs Man City OR Chelsea vs Liverpool? I’m sick of them putting the more desirable games on Plus or .tv.
