  1. I wish there were highlights available of more plays than just the scoring shots. MLS does a good job to post 8-10 minute videos of the game – much better than a minute and a half of one goal replayed from different angles.

  2. 80 is the total as of halftime. Messi is 5 goals from tying Gerd’s record and 6 from having the greatest season in the history of… sports?

I can’t even think of another sport’s record that’s even comparable? Gretzky’s 92 goal season in 81-82? Wilt’s season of 50 ppg? I mean Wilt was playing against grossly inferior competition.

    • I’m not sure about the french clubs but Valencia doesn’t really need Dempsey and wouldn’t have spent the money Spurs did on him.

Porto buy young and cheap and sell for profit. They just bought Jackson Martinez from Jaguares in Mexico and are ready to scoop up Joao Rojas, young Ecuadorian midfielder from Morelia in Mexico. Besides, I’m not sure Clint would’ve moved to Portugal, seems like a step down IMO.

    • Probably too much was made of dempsey’s champions league comments. Maybe should have been interpreted as a desire to play for a team with champions league ambitions.

  3. Messi is really, really good at soccer.

That’s either 80 or 81 calendar year goals. He’s going to break Muller’s record–you can feel it.
