Only two weeks remain in the Liga MX Apertura season before the playoffs begin, and the race to make the playoffs is closer than ever.
The top eight teams in the standings qualify for the Liguilla, or the Apertura postseason, but the difference between sixth-place Morelia and 12th-place Club Tijuana is just six points. A number of teams including Club America and Club Leon are missing a number of their stars due to Mexican National Team call-ups, which should unfortunately diminish some of the shine from this weekend’s slate.
Some games to keep an eye on this weekend in Liga MX include Cruz Azul hosting Morelia, bottom-feeders Atlante traveling to Club Tijuana, and Tigres UANL facing Club Leon.
