It’s only the third week of the Liga MX Clausura and we’ve arrived at the season’s most anticipated matchup.
For the first time since hoisting the Apertura title high into the Mexico City sky, Club Leon return to Estadio Azteca to face Club America, less than a month after Leon dismantled America on the way to winning their first title since 1992. Leon and Portuguese manager Pedro Caixinha picked up where they left off last season with a draw and a win to start the year, whole America and their new manager Antonio Mohamed won their opener but fell last week to Club Tijuana, Mohamed’s former club.
Luckily for America, their newest summer signing, Argentine forward Andres Rios, is ready to make his debut on Saturday.
Elsewhere in Liga MX, early leaders Querétaro visit Monterrey, Pachuca host Club Tijuana, and a surprisingly well playing Chivas de Guadalajara go on the road to face Veracruz.
