Jose Mourinho and Chelsea are showing no signs of slowing down as we enter the busy holiday season.

The English Premier League leaders maintained their strong early-season form with a 3-0 rout of struggling Tottenham Wednesday.

The result saw last year’s third-place side maintain its six point advantage on top of the standings in a season where they have yet to lose and have drawn just three games.

Early first half goals from Eden Hazard and 36-year-old Didier Drogba proved the difference in the all-London affair. After setting up Hazard for the first goal, Drogba, who was playing for the suspended Diego Costa, received a pass from Oscar and easily finished home from just inside the box for his 162nd goal in all competitions for Chelsea.

The result ensured that Tottenham would still be searching for their first-ever win at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League-era.

New signing, and French international Loïc Rémy also scored for the Blues.

Here are some more of the notable European results from Wednesday night:

AGUERO IMPRESSIVE YET AGAIN IN ROAD VICTORY

After a somewhat disappointing World Cup individually, Sergio Aguero has hit the ground running this season for Manchester City

The diminutive striker picked up his 13th and 14th strikes of the young season to help Man City to a 4-1 comeback win at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland.

Connor Wickham put the hosts up 1-0 in just the 19th minute, only to see Aguero equalize two minutes later before strikes from Steven Jovetic, Pablo Zabaleta and Aguero again sealed the match.

With the win, Man City are just four points behind Chelsea.

ARSENAL JUMP TO SIXTH PLACE WITH LAST-GASP WINNER

As has been the norm since he signed for the North London side, Alexis Sanchez provided the decisive strike in a 1-0 home win over surprising Southampton.

The Chilean was in the right place at the right time in the 89th minute to calmly finish from eight yards out after a hodgepodge in the box saw the ball somehow find his feet.

Sanchez’s ninth goal of the year saw off third-place Southampton who have opened up the season with a stunning 26 points from 14 matches.

The result put Arsenal just two points behind Manchester United for a coveted fourth place spot.

STRUGGLING LILLE HOLD PSG

A Salvatore Sirigu own goal canceled out Edinson Cavani’s 29th minute goal as Paris Saint-Germain failed in their quest for a 10th consecutive victory in all competitions.

The result saw PSG into second place, one point behind league-leaders Marseille.

After finishing in third place in Ligue 1 last year, Lille has struggled this year, hovering just three points above the relegation zone.
