Arsenal will try to avoid becoming the latest FA Cup casualty, with a fourth-round match against League Championship team Brighton on tap on this Soccer Sunday.

A day after four of the top six teams in the English Premier League were knocked out, the Gunners will be wary of their trip to the South Coast. Brighton eliminated Newcastle from last year’s tournament and has won four of its last five games.

The game will take place almost two years to the day the teams last met. Arsenal beat Brighton, 3-2, on Jan. 26, 2013, in another FA Cup fourth round encounter. Theo Walcott scored the winning goal with five minutes left.

In Spain, fourth meets fifth when Valencia hosts Sevilla. Both teams are unbeaten in their last six La Liga games, and Sevilla holds a one-point advantage in the race for a UEFA Champions League spot.

After posting two straight ties, Roma is desperate for a win against Fiorentina to stay alive in the title race. The Romans beat the Viola when the teams last met in August, but a loss now might provide leaders Juventus with an eight-point advantage at the end of the day.

In Mexico, Universidad Guadalajara will hope a home crowd provides an early upper hand on city rivals Chivas Guadalajara. Pumas hosts Toluca in the early game.

      • Good to know. I hope West Ham does well its always nice to have a small team with a shot. Not that West Ham will be small for much longer.
They are about to get a cheap brand new stadium that seats more than Stamford Bridge.

  1. For those always complaining about football lines on MLS pitches, it looks like there are Rugby lines on the pitch at this Bristol City/West Ham FA Cup match at Ashton Gate.
