A quartet of inter-conference clashes kick off MLS Week 3, while a pair of intriguing Western Conference clashes close out today’s proceedings.
The Montreal Impact start things off at Gillette Stadium, where they take on the New England Revolution. The Impact will be trying to shake off any lingering hangover following an impressive CONCACAF Champions League victory against Alajuelense on Wednesday. They face a Revolution side eager to turn things around after starting the season with a pair of shutout losses on the road.
The match of the day takes place at Sporting Park, where Sporting Kansas City takes on the Portland Timbers in a matchup that rarely disappoints. Sporting KC is off to a slow start, due in part to the poor finishing of Dom Dwyer through two matches. They face an injury-hit Timbers side that has registered a pair of ties to start the season.
The LA Galaxy play host to the Houston Dynamo in what has the makings of a mismatch. The Dynamo are 1-1, but their attack has yet to really get going. Goalkeeper Tyler Deric will look to rebound from his Week 2 blunder, but may find it tough going against Robbie Keane and the Galaxy.

One second a player is faking cramps to time waste then a minute latter with the game winner. So very MLS.
Castillo makes a long run down the wing into a blind ally… And it almost turns into an easy shot on goal due to poor defending. The Union is a bit panicky.
