It is a New York doubleheader on this Friday night in MLS, as both teams from the tri-state area take the field a week after their first meeting.
New York City FC is back in action at Yankee Stadium, looking to halt a seven-match winless streak by beating the Chicago Fire (7pm, Univision Deportes). David Villa will look to have some success against a Fire defense that has allowed its share of goals this season, while Chicago will to end its own two-match losing skid.
The night’s other MLS match takes place in Texas, where the Red Bulls have traveled to face FC Dallas in a clash of early-season powers. The Red Bulls will look to ride the momentum of last week’s emotional win against NYCFC, while FC Dallas will try to extend its own four-match unbeaten streak.
SBI will be providing live commentary on tonight’s action so please feel free to follow the action here. As always, you are welcome to share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.
Enjoy the action (Tonight’s SBI Live Commentary is after the jump):
Barrios and Richards on for FCD and NYRB in the 60th.
This game will be even more free flowing if that’s even possible
Typically Boca ….acting like cavemen.
I’m watching the game… its boring…
Btw. They look like they r playing Kick Ball!!
Villa not happy about something
Ownership didn’t take this league seriously when they built this roster
Kreis sure does love his RSL dudes
This is a perfect blueprint for emptying out a stadium by 4th of July
New fans aren’t going to understand why we just can’t go out and buy new players
Lampard isnt gunna help. At least not a whole hell of a lot.
Johnson is getting the ball pretty close to the 18 yard box every time he punts it down field. I hope he scores somehow.
Horrific offside call against the Fire as a second NYC player was on the line and kept him onside.
Fire dominating this one, this could get ugly
Awww man, who told them how to say Diskerud
