Real Salt Lake will have to finish its 2015 campaign without one of its best ceneterbacks after Chris Schuler was ruled out for the remainder of the season on Thursday.
Schuler underwent a successful surgery to fix a locked meniscus tear in his right knee, and the timetable for his return to the team is an estimated 4-to-6 months. The injury was felt by the 28-year-old centerback during pre-game training before Real Slat Lake’s match against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday.
“He should do well. He’s very resilient,” team physician Dr. Andrew Cooper told the Salt Lake Tribune. “He and I have gone through many injuries through the years. He’s tough and I think he’ll fight through this and do very well and be playing fairly soon.”
Schuler has had a history of injuries, and intriguingly, the centerback also injured himself during warm-ups ahead of the team’s first meeting with the Vancouver Whitecaps back in April.
What do you think about Schuler’s injury? Think he will come back as tough as ever next season for Real Salt Lake?

Pretty sure this article is inaccurate. Schuler is having surgery on his foot, not his knee. This info looks like it’s from when he had a previous surgery.
Spectacular player when he’s healthy. He’s not often healthy, however.
I’m a bit confused by this post, is this an old one that was dug up from the last time you ran an article about Schuler?
This is what the RSL website says.
SANDY, Utah (Thursday, September 10, 2015) – Real Salt Lake has announced that DF Chris Schuler has undergone successful surgery to repair a navicular fracture in his left foot and is expected to be out 4-6 months.
I don’t see anything about a knee.
I think he should stop warming up before matches against the Whitecaps, that’s what I think.
