After seeing Matt Miazga make an impressive debut in the Chelsea back line, Americans will be watching intently to see if 20-year-old defender starts again in the English Premier League this weekend.
The former Red Bulls defender played 90 minutes against Brad Guzan and Aston Villa last time out, helping to shut out the Villans with a 4-0 result. Fans now have to wait patiently to see if Guus Hiddink will continue to develop the young central defender by giving him a second consecutive start.
Borussia Moenchengladbach impressed against Hertha Berlin with a 5-0 result last week, but Fabian Johnson’s side must keep it up if the club hopes to find itself in the UEFA Champions League next season.
Johnson registered an assist from the right wing last Sunday, helping Monchengladbach win the crucial six-pointer against Hertha Berlin. This Saturday, Johnson could face off against his compatriot Alfredo Morales when playing FC Ingolstadt.
Elsewhere, DeAndre Yedlin’s Sunderland is tasked with facing English Premiership leader in Leicester City. Sunderland has drawn four straight matches but will be looking for an unlikely win to keep its hopes of avoiding relegation alive.

LeHAC travels to France’s Atlantic Northwest to face 9th place Brest. Bob Bradley’s side clings precariously to 3rd place on 54 points with 3 other clubs within 3 points. LeHAC is 5 points behind second place Nancy.
Bob?? You sure post on here a lot. Glad you’re doing well.
Ha! A lot of us are interested in Bradley’s campaign. To me, this is more signifcant than most of the nothing burger seasons most YA’s are having.
I agree US soccer supporters should be keeping a keen eye on Le Havre. You summed up their situation nicely. I have been tracking the results since Bob took over. Unfortunately they could only manage a scoreless draw today. Not ah I got watched them at all,….I just get the feeling they don’t have it and will miss promotion. They just can’t get the big results when they need them.
It would be huge (!) to have BB coaching in Ligue 1. I am convinced that is the only way a U.S. Coach will get to the top tier in Europe.
