FC Dallas has reportedly found its coveted target forward.
The Supporters’ Shield and U.S. Open Cup winners have found the final piece to their attacking piece, as they are set to sign 22-year-old forward Cristian Colman, according to a Goal.com report.
The fee for the Paraguayan is around $2 million. FC Dallas beat out a few other big-name clubs for the signature of Colman. Club Leon, Lanus, Sao Paulo and Gremio were also in the mix for the Nacional FC striker.
Colman, who will join FC Dallas as a designated player, scored 11 goals in 31 matches in Paraguay last season with Nacional FC. The forward joins Anibal Chala, Jose Salvatierra, Javier Morales and Roland Lamah as offseason reinforcements for Oscar Pareja’s side. FC Dallas has also inked three young players to homegrown deals since the 2016 season ended.
FCD is stacked.
Colman/Urruti will be fed by Barrios, Lamah, Morales, Chala, Tesho, Acosta, Gruezo, and eventually Mauro Diaz.
Should be the most entertaining team in the league again.
Not often am I super excited about the off season with FCD, but it’s hard not to be with all of these young players coming in. Just need Mauro back ASAP.
News out of Uruguay: Abreu joined Galaxy? WTF?
Abreu is breaking record in Paraguay, and Abreu is almost 40 years old.
Not exactly an exciting goal to game ratio considering he plays in Paraguay and he’s a designated player. I’m sure he brings more then goals but still.
2 million is an enormous transfer fee for his previous club too, which is near the bottom of Paraguay’s forst division in terms of popularity and success.
