Americans Abroad Tuesday Preview: Pulisic, Yedlin, Gonzalez and more


Tuesday is a busy day for American players as several could see the field in a variety of competitions.

German soccer’s premier cup competition continues on Tuesday with the quarterfinal round of the DFB-Pokal. Christian Pulisic and Borussia Dortmund will look to push towards the semifinals in Tuesday’s match against Sportfreunde Lotte while Timmy Chandler and Eintracht Frankfurt face off with Arminia Bielefeld.

English soccer features a battle of the Championship’s top two teams as both continue to push on for automatic promotion to the Premier League. Entering Tuesday, DeAndre Yedlin and Newcastle trail Brighton & Hove Albion by just a single point, making the upcoming clash vital for their Premier League hopes. David Wagner’s Huddersfield Town, meanwhile, is also in the race, sitting five points out of the top two entering a match with 20th place Wolverhampton Wanders.

The action concludes in Mexico, as Omar Gonzalez and Pachuca host Saprissa in the second leg of their CONCACAF Champions League tie after an initial 0-0 draw. Several other Americans could see the field in Copa MX action as Queretaro, Tijuana, Leon and Monterrey all take the field.
